Espana for Horn, Guitar and Double Bass by Vitaly Buyanovsky arranged by Kazimierz Machala
$19.95

Availability: In stock

Vitaly Buyanovsky's Espana is one of the most frequently performed works for unaccompanied horn, a brilliant display of exuberance and lyricism inspired by Spanish Folk tradition.

In this arrangement, I attempted to reinforce some of these qualities by creating an accompaniment for guitar and double bass, in what may be the first instance of such instrumentation. Both the guitar and the double bass are being employed not only to provide a harmonic background, but also to reflect the rhythmic vitality of the flamenco dancing and to evoke the sound of castanets.
